What is Carbamide Peroxide?

Carbamide peroxideis a compound variation of hydrogen peroxide that is combined with urea and is also known as hydrogen peroxide urea. It is a gel that has been found to safely whiten teeth without causing significant tooth sensitivity or gum damage. The reason that carbamide peroxide is used rather than hydrogen peroxide is that it is a more stable substance.

In teeth bleaching, the hydrogen peroxide contained within the Carbamide Peroxide helps to bleach the tooth enamel.

Concentration of the gel when used as a teeth whitener can range from 10% to 35%. Higher concentrations can cause chemical burns! A composition of around 20% is considered safe.

Smile4You is tested and contains 16% Carbamide Peroxide for the perfect solution

Teeth whitening gels from Smile4You, NuWhite and Mint Cosmetics are tested thoroughly and are safe to use. The composition used in these gels can be dangerous if not used correctly or contains a concentration that is above the recommended safe level.

Using Carbamide Peroxide in a tray ensures you are getting the right measurement of teeth whitening gel and it will also minimise contact with the gums while the teeth whitening process is taking place.
